Quest for the Allan Cup

The Shellbrook Elks will represent Saskatchewan at the 2016 Allan Cup Championship from April 11-16th in Steinbach, Manitoba.
They are one of six teams  competing for this prestigious cup and national championship title.  The first game will be held on April 11th at 8:00 pm versus the reigning champion and this years host, South East Prairie Thunder.

In 2016, the provincial AAA playdown for Saskatchewan was to be Shellbrook vs. Rosetown.  Rosetown decided not to ice a AAA team on December 1st, 2015, leaving the Shellbrook Elks as Provincial AAA champions for the 2015-16 year.

Typically, Saskatchewan and Manitoba playdown in an interbranch series of 5 games in 5 days to determine the winner of the berth in the Allan Cup Championship.  Being that this year, Manitoba is host to the championship, an automatic berth has been received by Saskatchewan.

The Allan Cup dates back to 1909.  Saskatchewan has won 4 titles with Lloydminster claiming the most recent title in 2007.

We will post more information as it becomes available such as schedules and possible live streams of games for you to watch.
